Ajax Building Corporation Scholarship for Florida Residents

This scholarship is for Spring and Summer

The Ajax Building Corporation Scholarship is open to full‐time undergraduate students who are Florida residents attending the College of Coastal Georgia. Founded in 1958 by the late J.B. “Block” Smith, Ajax Building Corporation boasts over three generations of experience with Block’s son, Douglas C. Smith, Serving as Chairman of the Board and grandson Jay B. Smith, serving as Vice President. After 11 years of outstanding leadership within the company, in 2003 the Smith Family invited Bill Byrne to become a part owner of the company, and in 2004 Bill was appointed President of Ajax.

In May 2010 Ajax and the College of Coastal Georgia broke ground on the campus’s first ever Campus Center. The state-of-the-art Campus Center is expected to be approximately 50,000 square-feet with food, health and recreation services, a bookstore, student activities and student organizations, and a theater. The Campus Center opened for student services in the Fall of 2011. With a desire to give back to the campus, Ajax Building Corporation has established the Ajax Building Corporation Scholarship Fund to benefit Florida residents attending the College of Coastal Georgia.

Criteria include the following:
• Full – time student who possess a minimum 2.9 GPA.
• Is a resident of the state of Florida.
• Preference will be given to applicants who have a business or family connection with Ajax and its employees.
