The Jane N. Marquess Psychology Scholarship

The Jane N. Marquess Psychology Scholarship

A psychology and English double major from Agnes Scott College who lives in the Golden Isles, Jane N. Marquess is the College Foundation’s first investor in the new psychology degree. Her initial gift established a restricted, named scholarship for students pursuing a B.S. in Psychology. Her intent is to encourage today’s students to experience a “joyous excitement” in studying, as she did when an undergraduate student.

The Jane N. Marquess Psychology Scholarship is open to an undergraduate student majoring in a Psychology degree program within the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at the College of Coastal Georgia. A $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to one student per academic year. A student may be eligible for up to two years of scholarship support; provided, however, that all eligibility requirements are met and a new application is submitted for each year.

Criteria include the following:

• Have successfully completed the core curriculum
• Have been admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology degree program
• Have achieved and continue to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
• Have been recommended for the scholarship by the faculty of the School of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences
