Department of Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts Scholarship

The Hospitality, Tourism, and Culinary Arts Scholarship is established as a “current use” scholarship, generating scholarship awards for deserving students at the College of Coastal Georgia pursuing a degree in either Hospitality, Tourism, and Event Management or the Culinary Arts programs.

Established by the BPR Properties, a family run company established in 1983 with the acquistion of their first property: a smoke shop in Staten Island, New York. After selling the smoke shop the following year, BPR went on to acquire a hot dog stand at a local flea market abd convenience store in New Jersey. In 1986, the expansion continued with the purchase of the first motel, a 48-room EconoLodge in Asheboro, North Carolina. From these modest beginnings, BPR Properties have grown to acquire and develop nearly 100 hotels, oversee more that 2,000 acres of commercial and residential real estate, and evolve into the company it is today. Currently they own 19 hotels in Georgia and North Carolina with 9 projects currently in the pipeline underdevelopment.
