Dr. Byron Scott Davis and Mrs. Margret Hirst Davis Scholarship for Medical Sciences Students

Mrs. Margret Hirst Davis?established this scholarship in memory of her husband, Dr. Byron Scott Davis , Mrs. Davis has endowed an educational scholarship and named the Davis Medical Sciences Laboratory at the College of Coastal Georgia. Through this scholarship, Mrs. Davis seeks to support an aspiring medical scientist or pre-medicine student in the earlier phases of his or her education.

Dr. Byron Scott Davis and his wife, Margaret, Founded Doctors Laboratory, a highly successful laboratory and diagnostic corporation which has operated for than 50 years in locations throughout the Southeast. Dr. Davis attended Wofford College and Emory Medical School.? He and his wife, whom Dr. Davis met in Great Britain during his service in World World II, have been life-long advocates for education and health care access, particularly in rural communities.?
