Hites-Dinos Family Higher Education Challenge Grant Scholarship

The Hites-Dinos Family Higher Education Scholarship provides scholarships for students from the College of Coastal Georgia who plan to enroll in one of the teacher education baccalaureate degree programs at the College of Coastal Georgia, following completion of a two year degree or general education program at the College. Scholarship funds may be used to offset the costs of tuition, fees, living expenses, etc. during the planned two year period of upper division college course enrollment. Recipients are eligible for awards of up to $2,000.00 annually (two year maximum). The award will be dispersed equally at the beginning of fall and spring semesters. The Hites-Dinos Family Higher Education Challenge Grant Endowment Fund Scholarship was established by the Hites Family Community College Scholarship Foundation and Coastal Georgia residents, Mary and Jack Dinos, who have been loyal and generous supporters of higher education programs across the state of Georgia for many years. The purpose of this innovative matching scholarship fund is to increase the number of community or two year college students who perform at a high level of academic excellence and who continue their studies at baccalaureate degree granting colleges or universities. The Hites-Dinos Scholarship targets the best and brightest students completing their first two years at the College of Coastal Georgia to encourage them to complete their studies and engage in the education of future generations. Up to (5) five scholarships will be awarded annually to outstanding students who will be attending College of Coastal Georgia to complete their baccalaureate degree. A student may be eligible for up to two years of scholarship support; provided, however, that all eligibility requirements are met and a new application is submitted for each year. Scholarship applications will be accepted and considered for initial award during fall semesters.
