Richard D. Restagno Endowed Accounting Scholarship
The Richard D. Restagno Endowed Accounting Scholarship was established by his long-time friends Howard Mann and Rita Omark.
As a young child, Richard moved from New York to Brunswick with his family where his father established Charlie’s Italian American Restaurant, the first of its kind to serve Italian cuisine in Brunswick.
Richard met his closest and lifelong friends: Lindy Hulse Aiken, Howard Mann, Ricky Poppell, and Joe Salkin. He graduated from Glynn Academy High School. He attended Brunswick Junior College and subsequently went on to graduate from the University of Georgia in 1976.
After graduation, he went on to relocate to the Atlanta area and became a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch. Becoming a Senior Financial Advisor and First Vice President during his 46-year career with Merrill Lynch. During his time, he found a passion for helping his clients achieve financial success.
When not helping others gain financial success, you could find him on the golf course or cheering on his dawgs. Through his passion for others and love of Brunswick, this accounting scholarship was established in his honor.
