Rose Athletic Scholarship

The Rose Athletic Scholarship was established to support the College of Coastal Georgia Athletic Department to attract and retain top student-athletes. The Henry and Julia Rose Endowed Scholarship, established through the very generous outright gift from the estate of Julia Rose, totaling nearly $3,000,000.00, provides scholarships for students at the College of Coastal Georgia. This gift is the largest single gift on record to the College and represents the corpus of the Rose estate. Julia Rose believed in the power of education to transform lives and was passionate about providing educational opportunities to those who could not afford it. Mrs. Rose, who served as a teacher in a small West Virginia mining town, developed a strong conviction during those years that higher education held the key to changing a society one life at a time. As a result of this endowment, the lives of hundreds of students have been set on a new trajectory toward a bright and successful future filled with expanded possibilities, and that impact will continue in perpetuity.
