Terry Thomas Endowed Women's Tennis Scholarship

The Terry Thomas Endowed Women’s Tennis Scholarship was established to support the College of Coastal Georgia Women’s Tennis program to attract and retain top student-athletes.

Julia Terrill “Terry” Thomas was born on September 12, 1922, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Miss Thomas was a devoted athlete winning numerous awards in tennis and golf. In the spring of 1958, she came to the Cloister at Sea Island for a three-week vacation with her parents and, as she would say to friends, she never left.

Miss Thomas worked closely with the College of Coastal Georgia Foundation, formerly known as the Coastal Georgia Community College Foundation, serving on numerous committees, and was named an Emeritus Member of the Foundation for her generous support of the college. She recognized the need for scholarship funding for students and provided for the completion of the Continuing Education Center on campus, a facility that was named in her honor and she was recognized with awards by the college in 1984 and 1995.

Miss Thomas made a vast impact on Brunswick, GA through her community service and efforts to enrich the lives of others. Her selfless nature was reflected in her thanking others for allowing her to help anywhere she could. Her selflessness and kindness left a legacy that will be remembered for years to come. Must be a member of the College of Coastal Georgia’s Women’s Tennis team
