Georgia Natural Resources Foundation Scholarship Fund

The Georgia Natural Resources Foundation Scholarship supports a College of Coastal Georgia student who has been selected for an internship in experiential learning with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division, (GADNR CRD). Established in 2010, the Georgia Natural Resources Foundation (GNRF) is a 501©(3) charitable organization that supports the preservation of Georgia’s natural and cultural resources through projects, activities and programs of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. They receive donations from and enter into partnerships with Individuals, corporations and other similarly aligned foundations to support their initiatives. The mission of the GNRF is to support the efforts of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to sustain, enhance, protect and conserve Georgia’s natural historic and cultural resources for present and future generations, while recognizing the importance of promoting the development of commerce and industry that utilize sound environmental practices. Majoring? in Biological Sciences or Environmental Science

Enrollment in BIOL 4900 or ENVS 4900 Service-Learning Internship

Must be comfortable in boats, able to swim, able to walk through salt marshes, and able to tolerate heat, mosquitoes, sand gnats and other outdoor elements with a good attitude

Preference may be given to students who have experience working on boats

Must be in good academic standing as determined by the Department of Natural Sciences

Awarded to a student who has been selected for an internship with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Coastal Resources Division, (GADNR CRD)

Awarded based on a recommendation by the Coastal Ecology and/or Environmental Science Program Coordinator(s)
