Torrey Men's Tennis Scholarship

The William F. Torrey Jr. Endowed Men’s Tennis Scholarship was established to support the College of Coastal Georgia Men’s Tennis program to attract and retain top student-athletes.William (Bill) F. Torrey, Jr. has been a supporter of the College of Coastal Georgia for decades. He has served on the Board of Trustees for many years and has chaired the Foundation on several occasions through the administrations of three different presidents. His leadership, along with the unwavering support of his wife, Marta, ensured that the College and the Foundation have grown and been stable across myriad changes and economic ups and downs. Mr. Torrey graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and received his Master’s from Duke University. He was the Wood Procurement Manager for Brunswick Pulp and Paper Co., and President of Canal Chip Corp. Mr. Torrey’s civic work includes President/Chairman: of Georgia Forestry Assn., Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia, 0ssabaw Inc., Founding board member and Vice-Chairman – Brunswick and Glynn County Development Authority, and Ducks Unlimited Georgia State Chairman and Board member Ducks Unlimited Inc. Mr. Torrey was married to Marta 8. Torrey until her death in 2012. They have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. Eligibility qualifications as seen by the student.
